This book explores the global operations and sister groups of the Uyghur Diaspora umbrella organization, the World Uyghur Congress (WUC). It examines the WUC’s networks, the coalitions it has formed as well as the strategies it pursues to raise the public profile of Uyghur issues on the international stage. This unique and timely study reveals how an issue concerning a Chinese minority has been catapulted onto the wider global political stage, and how Uyghur groups and successfully raising their visibility.
