Existence, Meaning, Excellence

This book addresses the question of the meaning of life from the point of view of a novel interpretation of Aristotle’s teleology. Critically engaging with the work of the post-war existentialists, the author proposes that the question of the meaning of being should be approached using different assumptions based on the notion of flourishing and virtue. Informed by Alasdair MacIntyre’s critique of modernity, the book provides a novel account of the relationship between existence, meaning and excellence, and contributes to debates on the nature of art and genius.
