Despite the US government spending about 15 to 20 percent of the GDP on contracts, public procurement remains an underdeveloped area of research. Focusing on the managerial, economic, political, and legal aspects, the International Handbook of Public Procurement presents a conceptual framework along with illustrative case studies to describe each phase of the public procurement process in detail. This book discusses public procurement reform, a process emphasized by the World Bank and the United Nations, and addresses specific topics such as e-procurement.
