Terminal Ballistics: A Text and Atlas of Gunshot Wounds begins with a presentation of basic firearms (rifle, pistol, and shotgun) and examines fundamental components of ammunition rounds. The second part of the book deals with the varied patterns of gunshot injury. It presents pattern injuries sustained after discharge from handguns, shotguns, and black powder weapons. Later chapters detail more obscure injuries such as those from homemade weapons. The final section deals with more technical aspects of wound examination, including gunshot injury in war and crimes against humanity.
