Risk and Reliability in Geotechnical Engineering

In the last decade, reliability-based design methodologies have been adopted or are close to adoption by design codes in USA, Europe, and Japan, especially as ISO 2394 now relies more on risk-based design. This book explains how calculations can be carried out using simple tools, and by presenting illustrative or actual examples. It presents all the "need-to-know" information for a non-specialist to calculate and interpret the reliability index and risk of geotechnical structures in a realistic and robust way.
