Japanese Horror Films and their American Remakes

This book examines Japanese horror films and their American remakes. Focusing on the textual transformations that occur when texts cross cultural boundaries, this study probes the underlying socio-cultural, aesthetic, thematic and narrative complexities that organize each culture’s representations of horror / the supernatural to encourage a richer appreciation of these films.
