Cosmopolitanism, Nationalism and the Jews of East Central Europe

This volume addresses various aspects of the long and tangled relationship between Jews and cosmopolitanism in East Central Europe. Starting with a discussion of early modern courtiers, the collection continues with analyses of the activities of Jewish revolutionaries, trans-national economic projects spearheaded by Jews, and the response of national politicians and provocateurs to Jewish involvement in cosmopolitan ideologies and movements over the course of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. _x000D_ This book was originally published as a special issue of the European Review of History.
