European Social Movements and the Transnationalization of Public Spheres

Can transnational mobilization and protest transform the territorial scale of debate on issues of common concern in public spheres? In the book, we show how contemporary European social movements may contribute to such processes as either ‘arenas’ of deliberation in themselves or as ‘actors’ in broader public spheres. The chapters were originally published in a special issue of the Journal of Civil Society.
