Many lab manuals are available, but none of them takes the industry-based approach that this one does. In addition to role playing that helps students understand what actually goes on in an industrial laboratory, an important feature of the lab manual is that on completion of their lab work, students must write memos to the fictional client. Thus, the student is not only required to learn the material, but to write about the concepts covered in the course of their lab work. Created as a companion to John Kenkel's textbook, Chemistry: An Industry-Based Laboratory Manual, it is a unique and practical tool that will complement any chemistry course.
