Political Civility in the Middle East

This book proposes conceptual and empirical insights into the dynamics of the local, national and trans-national formation of civility in contemporary Middle Eastern polities.  Challenging conventional ‘western’ perspectives on civility, it analyses the everyday formation of Islamic and secular subjects and its implications for the political order established by the state._x005F_x000D_ This book was originally published as a special issue of Third World Quarterly.
