The Fungal Community

This fourth edition addresses many of the questions related to the observations, characterizations, and functional attributes of fungal assemblages and their interaction with the environment and other organisms. It promotes awareness of the new molecular methods for fungal identification that have upended traditional taxonomy and our ability to study microbial communities. It focuses on the role fungi play in maintaining ecosystem functioning, and the way in which fungal communities have been disturbed by climate change and environmental pollution.
