Micro and Small Enterprises, Water and Developing Countries
This thesis has contributed to the knowledge base of the research field of (micro and small sized enterprises) McSEs in the sense that it has constituted a paradigm shift based in the recognition that empowered marginalized groups can make a difference in their own contexts, has added value to the research field of cleaner production (CP) in the context of McSEs in developing countries and has methodological implications for the social sciences. The latter has brought the debate towards supporting action research for longer periods of time in order to "grab" change processes, to make a difference to the most needed, to involve academia with high values of society and to provide relevant practical guidance.
