Asian Affairs

Asian Affairs covers the whole region of Asia - Central Asia, the Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia and East Asia. The Journal generally consist of articles on specific countries, locales or historical episodes, including social and political perspectives, as well as contemporary affairs. Some of these are peer reviewed. The Journal is read by a wide audience. This includes academic readers, and also those with practical experience in governance, diplomacy, business, foreign policy, travel and other general interests in Asia. As such, the Journal favours articles of a practical and general character above those which concentrate on discussions of academic theory, or are of a highly technical nature. Biographical descriptions and accounts of archaeological and historical travel have also been published. Some of the articles are based on lectures to the Society. A substantial section of each issue consists of book reviews of new publications. Asian Affairs also maintains its character as a journal for Society members, with reports of Society activity and tours.
