Economic Crisis and Austerity in Southern Europe

This collective volume provides a systematic comparative appraisal of welfare-state reform trajectories across South Europe prior to and during the crisis. It brings together a number of cross-country studies on major social policy areas (pensions, healthcare, employment/labour market, family and gender) engaging in critical reflection on the consequences of austerity politics and policies that pressingly threaten the very idea of Social Europe.
